VISITING OUR CHURCH FOR THE FIRST TIME
We recognize that it can be nerve-wrecking for some to visit a new place, even a church! So we want to walk you through the whole process to help you feel more comfortable during your first visit.
Address: We are located near the intersection of Biesterfield Road and Arlington Heights Road at 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
Parking: If you had a bird’s eye view of our church, you’d see that it is essentially an island in the middle of a parking lot. This is important to note as you can park anywhere around the whole church. So let’s make sure we get you to the right door! The best place to park - to get directly to the sanctuary and service - is right off of Arlington Heights Road.
The Inside: While not officially a circle, our church’s hallways and rooms all encircle an outside nature garden. So if you venture away from the sanctuary, just know that if you feel like you are lost, just keep walking around! You’ll eventually make your way back to the sanctuary.
The Sanctuary: When you walk through our front doors off of Arlington Heights Road, the sanctuary for service will be just to your left. Before or after service, you are more than welcome to stay and chat in the narthex! We have coffee, water, chairs, tables, and community!
Safety: Safety is always top of mind, so if you happen to arrive after service has already started, please note that the front doors might be locked. Don’t worry! Just ring the bell and either a greeter or usher will let you in and direct you to the sanctuary.
Visuals: We do have two big screens in the sanctuary (one in the front, the other in the back) that are used during services for slides or videos.
Contact Card! We would love to learn more about you and what brought you to us, so please take a moment to fill out our contact card in the pew (or online) before you leave. We love new faces!
The Buddy System: If you would like to sit with a current member of Christus Victor during your first visit, we’d love that! It’s always easier going to a new place with someone who knows the lay of the land. Please email Communications Specialist Christina Schiel to let her know what date and service you’d like to attend. She’ll find you a buddy and put you in contact with them!
