Join in on the musical fun this holiday season! The music ministry is looking for anyone who would like to join a “pop-up” choir for Christus Victor’s Christmas Music Festival (to be held on Dec. 19), as well as a group for caroling in December. Rizen Band
Rizen Praise Band is a group called to lead others in worship. We dig more modern music in service. We want you to feel vitalized by simply coming to church, and our goal is to come back to the heart of worship.
Why don't you come play a song with us next Thursday evening? No commitments on our part or yours. Just a great opportunity to bless us with your talent! We meet on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm for rehearsal and at 8:00am on Sunday mornings for our 9:00am Contemporary Service.
The group currently consists of drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, and vocals. However, we are open to your suggestions and different talents!

Meet Traditional Service Leader
Freeman Tucker
Freeman Tucker was born in Eastern Washington State and grew up in Northern Nevada as the 9th of 11 children. Being part of a musical family, his aptitude for music was recognized early and he started piano lessons at age 5. He began taking organ lessons in middle school, and started playing for services at St. John Lutheran Church shortly after. He received his Bachelors in Organ Performance from Wheaton College, during which time he was the organist for First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton. After graduating, he moved to Michigan, and was the Director of Music at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for the next 8 years, also teaching music classes at St. John School for 3 ½ years. Freeman enjoys performing collaboratively, often appearing in duo piano or duo piano/organ concerts. When he is not busy making music, Freeman enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with Ahsoka, his Rough Collie x German Shepherd dog.
Meet JoyBells Handbell Director
Anne Kivikko
Anne has been leading JoyBells since 2006. She has been an avid handbell ringer and fan of this type of music for about 25 years. She is also currently a member of Chicago Bronze, a Chicago area professional handbell group.
Anne has a bachelor’s degree and master’s work in instrumental music, general music, and choir. Besides handbells, piano and flute are her instruments of choice. She is a retired band and orchestra teacher from the Schaumburg School District.
Anne and her husband Kevin enjoy traveling and spending time with their five grandchildren.

JoyBells Handbell Choir
JoyBells is an English handbell choir that rehearses on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6:30pm. We have a five octave set of bells, as well as three octaves choir chime.
