Music Ministries
Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. ~Psalms 105:2
We love our music here at Christus Victor and feel more connected to our faith because of it! Whether you are looking for traditional or modern music, we offer both at our services!
THANK YOU to everyone who donated or attended our music concert on May 19!
It was an amazing experience and a great success! If you missed out and still would like to donate to our music ministry to help support our instrument repairs, you still can through the link below:
CALLING ALL MUSICIANS:
Singers, guitar players (acoustic and electric), drummers, and handbell players are all needed in the weeks to come at Christus Victor! Christmas is the time of year to share you or your child's musical talents during services. The band could use another couple of guitar players beyond Christmas as well if you or someone you know may be interested in picking it up again!
There are several opportunities to sing with a Christmas Caroling group starting at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on 11/23. Other opportunities in December include retirement villages, respite care and PADS. More details to come!

Meet Music Director Megan Radowick Majewski!
Education: Bachelor’s in Music from University of Texas at San Antonio & Master’s in Music from Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University
Church History & Family Background: I was raised in Rosenberg, a small Texas town. I began my faith journey at the United Methodist Church from the age of 5. It was there I learned to sing and began to read music in the children's choirs. My most important mentors were my youth leader, Clare, and the choir director, Susan Jones. They were caring, talented, and lived their faith out loud. I strive to do the same!
Hobbies/Passions: Playing with my cattle dog, Moose; going on long walks at forest preserves and the Morton Arboretum; baking new recipes from Pinterest; watching documentaries; and discovering new music. My passion is praising God through my voice and teaching others to harness their voice as well.
Philosophy: I believe we must strive to leave the world better than we found it - not just the restoration of our physical planet but also the heart and soul of God's people. Through a broken world, I see God's mercies at work through social justice, caring programs, and the hearts of the followers of Jesus. If we would love one another as God has loved us, I think that is the first step in building healthy relationships and creating change. My work at Christus Victor reminds me daily that the work is never complete, and there will always be a hand to hold. My work keeps me grounded and focused on my beliefs.
CHANCEL CHOIR
The Chancel Choir is a vocal ensemble open to anyone from high school age through adult. No audition is required, just a love of singing praises to the Lord!
Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Inspiration Room from September through May. The Choir performs at most 11 a.m. services, with occasional performances for the Saturday 5 p.m. service.
In December of each year, the Choir participates in the annual Christmas Music Festival and on Good Friday of each year, they perform a dramatic cantata.
The director is Megan Majewski and the accompanist is Diane Bele. For more information please contact Megan at Megan.Radowick@cvlutheran.org.
We are always looking for more singers, especially Tenors!
Rizen Band
Rizen Praise Band is a group called to lead others in worship. We dig more modern music in service. We want you to feel vitalized by simply coming to church, and our goal is to come back to the heart of worship.
Why don't you come play a song with us next Thursday evening? No commitments on our part or yours. Just a great opportunity to bless us with your talent! We meet on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm for rehearsal and at 8:00am on Sunday mornings for our 9:00am Contemporary Service.
The group currently consists of drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, and vocals. However, we are open to your suggestions and different talents!
Please email Megan Radowick about your interest at Megan.Radowick@CVLutheran.org!
Meet Blended Service Leader Rawl Thurman
I attended Columbia College Chicago and studied music composition and arranging. My background is in theater, creating original music, and sound designs.
Music has always been a part of who I am. For whatever reason, I have been blessed with that gift. I feel that if I don't share that gift I am wasting it. As Matthew says, "Your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do" (Matthew 5:16). And so I "make a joyful noise to the Lord" (Psalm 100).
I live in Woodridge with my wife, two children, and dog, Sugar.
Meet JoyBells Handbell Director Anne Kivikko
Anne has been leading JoyBells since 2006. She has been an avid handbell ringer and fan of this type of music for about 25 years. She is also currently a member of Chicago Bronze, a Chicago area professional handbell group.
Anne has a bachelor’s degree and master’s work in instrumental music, general music, and choir. Besides handbells, piano and flute are her instruments of choice. She is a retired band and orchestra teacher from the Schaumburg School District.
Anne and her husband Kevin enjoy traveling and spending time with their five grandchildren.
JoyBells Handbell Choir
JoyBells is an English handbell choir that rehearses on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6:30pm. We have a five octave set of bells, as well as three octaves choir chime.
